CBATB - What? Ooh, 4?

Today's lyric:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"Gone so soon, the time I spent with you
And like an old, old tune -
Keeps running through my head
I wanted to say, so many things
But my mouth went dry - and one word and I'd cry."

Paul Weller: "Time passes"
From the album: "Stanley Road"

Some exceptional tracks here

Dumbed down

Today's lyric:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"extreme ways that that help me
help me out late at night
extreme places I had gone
but never seen any light
dirty basements, dirty noise
dirty places coming through
extreme worlds alone
did you ever like it planned

I would stand in line for this
there's always room in life for this."

Moby: "Extreme ways"
From the album: "18"

ever a favourite

So I get the iPod back up to speed and then go and leave the moby at home?

It's only an 'emergency' cellphone but means that I can't let Mrs.D. know that my train's in and if she's about, could she pick me up? In my car?

Hey Ho.

It's going to be a stone-crackingly hot weekend (I read it in the paper, so it must be true?) so enjoy your (Bank holiday) weekends, y'all..

On leaving

Today's lyric:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"Surfing on an oilspill,
Surfing on a perfect wave,
Porn upon the airwaves,
Rituals of the mating game."

Echobelly: "Dark Therapy"
From the album: "I can't imagine the world without me"

slow burner

Number One Son leaves home tomorrow, for possibly the last time?

The house he's been angling to rent with three mates has finally been signed off and we'll be helping to load the van and packing him off, no doubt with Mrs.D. waving him away with a tear-stained hanky.

It's not that it's the first time - there have been several 'escape attempts' before now - but this time it feels like forever?

But it's what we've brought them both up to be - quietly confident about their independence, so we've only ourselves to blame.

Anyone wanna buy a family home?

Enjoy your weekends, y'all...

Is it me? (court. T. Wogan)

Today's lyric:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"Was it love, or was it the idea of being in love?
Or was it the hand of fate, that seemed to fit just like a glove?
The moment slipped by and soon the seeds were sown
The year grew late and neither one wanted to remain alone."

Pink Floyd: "A new machine (Part II)"
From the album: "A momentary lapse of reason"

Another of The Classics

or has Blogland ground to a shuddering halt?

Weather report

Today's lyric:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow, would you still be mine?"

The Eagles: "Take it to the limit"
From the album: "The Eagles: Live"

Ever a favourite..

Saw nothing of it, because of kitchen repair work. That is all.

No denying

Today's lyric:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"What shall we use to fill the empty spaces where we used to talk?
How shall I fill the final places?
How shall I complete the wall?"

Pink Floyd: "Empty spaces"
From the album: "The Wall"

Emotive stuff

that I have little to blog about today, so enjoy your weekends, y'all.
