Assuming

Today's lyric:

"Does it go from east to west?
Body free and a body less
Come again just to start afresh
Once again to find a home
In the moment of the meantime."

Red Hot Chilli Peppers: "Venice Queen"
From the album: "By the way"

i.r.o. Thursday's question, despite the fact that it's 8:31 and there's no-one waiting to be served at the counter, you are politely accosted in the bank's foyer and taken to the internal hole-in-the-wall to be educated in the ways of obtaining an envelope in which to place your cheque for processing. You are also assured that it's just the same as having been served at the counter and your cheque will clear in exactly the same time.

So you gaily post off six cheques to be banked against your credit and they all bounce because the bank did not process your enveloped cheque until after the day's work had been cashed up, so it actually takes five days to clear.

It took six phone calls to get the problem sorted and the 220 quid of charges reversed out.

Beware, folks.
